My biggest academic challenge is procrastination. When I went to a traditional college I was always late for class or didn't make it at all. I would procrastinate leaving the house, doing homework and anything else I could put off, I did. I do not like sitting in a class listening to somebody lecture. I would rather be outside learning or learning hands on. So it would seem that going to Kaplan is the best fit for me because I get to go to class wherever I am, at that time. The scheduling for Kaplan is perfect for me. I would assume that most of you feel similar or you would not be attending Kaplan University. But, is that really why you have decided to attend this school?
The World Champion New Orleans Saints did not look very good today. I will keep cheering and fighting. Hopefully the Saints will do the same. We better buck up and bring it next week or we are going to get our butt whipped by Pittsburgh. Happy Halloween! Geaux Saints.

Oprah Got Swindled
In 2005 Oprah professed her utter love for the book "A Million Little Pieces". She had the author on her show while the book was spending numerous weeks at the top of the sales charts. Little did Oprah know that the entire book had been embellished, if it wasn't a flat out lie. There was a huge scandal and Oprah went on the air and basically cursed the author and said he should be ashamed of himself. Now, I am not sure that was the best way to handle the situation, but whatever, its Oprah. And I don't know what else happened to that author other than nobody buying anything he writes ever again. The whole situation was funny to me. However, it is a rather serious situation. Millions of dollars were paid to read about A Million Pieces of Bull Sh*t. I would be mad if I had read the book before the truth came out. I would have demanded my money back. Now I don't know if the store would just have to eat it on that or not. But they should make the author give back those fat checks he had been lining his pockets with. Hilarious.

Online Classes
I don't know about anybody else out there but online learning is the place for me. I thoroughly enjoy setting my own schedule. I live in New Orleans and there is always something going on. If I want to miss a seminar and do option 2 so that I can go to a free Dr. John concert in Lafayette Square, I can. If I want to travel for a few weeks, all I need is my computer and an internet signal. I just love the fact that I am not tied down to school so much. It is a breath of fresh air. Freedom. How does everybody else like the online learning atmosphere we find ourselves? I guess I have always been better left to my own study devices. I have had to study and learn on my own my entire adult life. It is not that I don't like being around people, but I reserve all my niceties for my bar customers. After putting up with drunks night after night it is sweet to not have to talk to people.

First Timer...
I have never written a blog. In fact I havn't even read a blog before. If you havn't noticed, I am a New Orleans Saints fan. I have lived in New Orleans for six years now, and I still love it. It is a beautiful 70 degrees outside without a cloud in the sky. I am a bartender, a personal trainer and a full time student. I plan on getting my degree in Nutrition in about a year and a half. After that I plan on becoming an EMT-Paramedic (about another year and a half of schooling). I have an amazing dog named Chance. He is the cuttest Pug ever. He is also the namesake of my fantasy football team the one_der pugs. Well, the Saints barely pulled that game out yesterday. The defense is banged up, especially the secondary. Hopefully we do a little better next week. Stay Healthy...All Good Things.
